INTERIM COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SENNA FRUIT EXTRACT, STANDARDIZED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Interim Commercial Item Description which was developed by DLA, Defense Personnel Support Center, Directorate of Medical Materiel, DPSC-RST, 2800 South 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19101, based upon currently available technical information.
Salient Characteristics:
Shall be a palatable Senna Fruit Extract, standardized: contains 10.0 mg Sennosides per 5 ml, with Alcohol and Sucrose.
The finished solution shall be palatable and pleasant to the taste with no unpleasant after-taste. Not later than the time specified for opening of bids or receipt of proposals, the offeror shall submit to the contracting officer 12 units of issue of the finished solution representative of the product which the offeror proposes to furnish. Samples will be subject to panel testing for a determination of palatability. The remaining samples will be used by the cognizant Government inspection and quality assurance activities for determining compliance with palatability requirement may be waived, provided the offeror states, in his bid or proposal, that the product he proposes to furnish is the same product he has offered to the purchasing activity on a previous procurement and the contracting officer determines that such product was previously procured and/or tested by the purchasing activity and found to comply with the palatability requirement.
