COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CEFTRIAXONE SODIUM FOR INJECTION
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Ceftriaxone Sodium for Injection.
Materials used in manufacture shall be of pharmaceutical grade.
For Strength 1, shall contain a quantity of Ceftaixone Sodium equivalent to 250 mg of Ceftraixone, within the applicable assay limits for the injection.
For Strength 2, shall contain a quantity of Ceftaixone Sodium equivalent to 1 Gram of Ceftraixone, within the applicable assay limits for the injection.
For Strength 3, shall contain a quantity of Ceftaixone Sodium equivalent to 2 grams of Ceftraixone, within the applicable assay limits for the injection.
For Strength 1 and 2, and for Strength 3, Size 1, shall be suitable for intramuscular or intravenous use.
For Strength 3, Size 2, shall be suitable for intravenous use.
Workmanship. Injection shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PC).
For Strength 1, shall be supplied in a commercially available vial. One package containing 10 vials, as specified, constitutes one unit.
For Strength 1, shall be supplied 10 ml in a commercially available vial. One package containing 10 vials, as specified, constitutes one unit.
