COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
HYDROCORTISONE VALERATE OINTMENT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Hydorcortisone Valerate Ointment.
Shall contain 0.2 percent Hydorcortisone Valerate per gram, within the applicable assay limits.
pH. The ointment shall have a pH of 4.3 to 5.3 when tested in its final form, without dilution, by an accurate, reliable, reproducible method.
Workmanship. The ointment shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Tube (TU).
For Size 1, one tube containing 15 grams, as specified, constitutes one unit.
For Size 2, one tube containing 60 grams, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Contactor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
