COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SODIUM FLUORIDE ORAL SOLUTION, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-S-37849 which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be Sodium Fluoride Oral Solution, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
Strength:
1. Each ml shall contain 1.1 mg of Sodium Fluoride equivalent to 0.5 mg of Fluoride ion.
2. Each ml shall contain 4.4 mg of Sodium Fluoride equivalent to 2 mg of Fluoride ion.
3. Each ml shall contain 4.97 mg of Sodium Fluoride equivalent to 2.25 mg of Fluoride ion.
4. Each ml shall contain 11.05 mg of Sodium Fluoride equivalent to 5 mg of Fluoride ion.
5. Each ml shall contain 13 mg of Sodium Fluoride equivalent to 5.9 mg of Fluoride ion.
Strengths 1, 2, 3, and 5 shall be pleasantly flavored and palatable, strength 4 shall have no discernible flavor.
