COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
GENTAMICIN SULFATE INJECTION, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-G-37473 which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be Gentamicin Sulfate Injection, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
For Strength 1, shall contain the equivalent of 10 mg of Gentamicin per ml within the applicable assay limits.
For Strength 1, shall contain the equivalent of 40 mg of Gentamicin per ml within the applicable assay limits.
Workmanship. The injection shall be free from defects which may detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit.
For Size 1 – Bottle (BT). One bottle containing 2 ml, as specified, constitutes one unit.
For Size 2 – Package (PG). One package containing one 2 ml Syringe Needle Unit, as specified, constitutes one unit.
For Size 3 – Package (PG). One package containing ten (10) 20 ml vials, as specified, constitutes one unit.
