COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CEPHALOTHIN SODIUM FOR INJECTION, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-C-37287A which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be for Injection, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
For Strength1, shall contain a quantity of Cephalothin Sodium equivalent to 1 gram of Cephalothin within the applicable assay limits.
For Strength2, shall contain a quantity of Cephalothin Sodium equivalent to 2 grams of Cephalothin within the applicable assay limits.
Type I, shall be suitable for intramuscular or intravenous use.
Type II, shall be suitable for intermittent intravenous administration.
Workmanship. The product shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair its serviceability.
