COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
IBUPROFEN TABLETS, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Ibuprofen Tablets, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
All ingredients shall be of pharmaceutical grade.
For Strength 1, Sizes 1, 2 and 3 shall contain 400 mg of Ibuprofen in each tablet, within the applicable assay limits for the tablets.
For Strength 2, Sizes 1, 2 and 4 shall contain 600 mg of Ibuprofen in each tablet, within the applicable assay limits for the tablets.
For Strength 3, Sizes 1 and 2 shall contain 800 mg of Ibuprofen in each tablet, within the applicable assay limits for the tablets.
Workmanship. Tablets shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit.
For Strength 1, Size 1, Strength 2, Size 1 and Strength 3, Size 1 – Bottle (BT). One bottle containing 500 tablets, as specified, constitutes one unit.
For Strength1, size 2, Strength 2, Size 2, and Strength 3, Size 2 – Package (PG). One package containing 100 tablets, individually sealed in blister or strip packaging, as specified, constitutes one unit.
