COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DOXYCYCLINE HYCLATE CAPSULES, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Doxycycline Hyclate Capsules, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
Materials used in the manufacture of the product shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
For Strength 1, shall be capsules containing the equivalent of 50 mg Doxycycline per capsule within the applicable assay limits for the capsules.
For Strength 2, shall be capsules containing the equivalent of 100 mg of Doxycycline per capsule within the applicable assay limits for the capsules.
Workmanship. The Capsules shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit.
For Size 1 – Bottle (BT). One bottle containing 50 capsules, as specified, constitutes one unit.
For Size 2 – Bottle (BT). One bottle containing 500 capsules, as specified, constitutes one unit.
For Size 1 – Package (EA). One package containing 100 individually sealed capsules in a commercially available blister or strip package, as specified, constitutes one unit.
