COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
WATER FOR IRRIGATION, STERILE, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-W-37540A which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be Water for Irrigation, Sterile, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
All ingredients shall be of pharmaceutical grade.
Workmanship. The solution shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG).
For Size 1, shall be supplied 100 ml in a commercially available, wide-mouth, pour-type, semi-rigid plastic container with a screwcap and with or without a hanging device. The container neck shall be not less than 38 mm in diameter, and the closure shall not be adaptable to the application of the Military intravenous sets. One package containing 12 containers, as specified, constitutes one unit.
