COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
LEUCOVORIN CALCIUM FOR INJECTION (FREEZE-DRIED)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient Characteristics:
Shall be Sterile, freeze-dried Leucovorin Calcium for Injection.
For Strength 1, each vial shall contain an amount of Leucovorin Calcium equivalent to 50 mg of Leucovorin within the applicable assay limits for the item.
For Strength 2, each vial shall contain an amount of Leucovorin Calcium equivalent to 100 mg of Leucovorin within the applicable assay limits for the item.
For Strength 3, each vial shall contain an amount of Leucovorin, Calcium equivalent to 350 mg of Lmucovorin within the explicable assay limits for the item.
Strength 1 shall be suitable for intramuscular injection when reconstituted with 5 ml of sterile diluents. Strength 2 and Strength 3 shall be suitable for intramuscular or intravenous administration when reconstituted with 10 ml and 17 ml of sterile diluent, respectively.
All ingredients use in the manufacture of the product shall be of pharmaceutical grade.
Workmanship. The product shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Vial (VI). One vial containing Leucovorin Calcium in the strength specified, constitutes one unit.
