COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
NITROGLYCERIN OINTMENT, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient Characteristics:
Shall be Nitroglycerin Ointment, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
Shall contain Nitroglycerin 2%, within the applicable assay limits, and Lactose in a Lanolin-Petrolatum Base.
All ingredients shall be of pharmaceutical grade.
Workmanship. The ointment shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Tube (TU).
For Size 1, one tube containing 20 grams, as specified, constitutes one unit. Tube shall be supplied in a carton together with a patient instruction pad containing not less than 30 paper dose measuring applicators capable of measuring doses of at least 2 inches.
For Size 2, one tube containing 60 grams, as specified, constitutes one unit. tube shall be supplied in a carton together with not less than 30 dose measuring applicators.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
