COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SULFACETAMIDE, SULFABENZAMIDE, SULFATHIAZOLE,
AND UREA CREAM
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Federal Specification MIL-S-37204 which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Sulfacetamide, Sulfabenzamide, Sulfathiazole and Urea Cream, Vaginal.
All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
Shall be water-disposable, absorptive, vaginal cream in accordance with the following:
Sulfabenzamide – 3.70%
Sulfacetamide – 2.86%
Sulfathiazole – 3.42%
Urea – 0.64%
Cream base – qs ad 100.0%
The finished cream shall assay to contain the required amount of the individual sulfacamides and urea within the NDA assay limits, when assayed by a suitable accurate and reproducible method(s).
The pH of the undiluted finished cream shall be not less than 3.00 and not more than 4.00 at 25°C using the USP method.
Workmanship. The cream shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
