COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SULFACETAMIDE SODIUM OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-S-37404 which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Sulfacetamide Sodium Ophthalmic Ointment, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
Shall contain 10 percent Sulfacetamide Sodium within the applicable assay limits for the ointment.
Workmanship. The ointment shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Tube (TU). One tube with ophthalmic tip containing 1/8 oz (3.5 gram), as specified, constitutes one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
