COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SPECTINOMYCI HYDROCHLORIDE, STERILE, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-S-37446 which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Spectinomycin Hydrochloride, Sterile, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
Strength:
For Strength 1, shall contain a quantity of Spectinomycin Hydrochloride, equivalent to 2 grams of Spectinomycin within the applicable assay limits.
For Strength 2, shall contain a quantity of Spectinomycin Hydrochloride, equivalent to 4 grams of Spectinomycin within the applicable assay limits.
Workmanship. The product shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). Shall be supplied as a powder in a commercially available vial packaged together with a commercially available ampul of Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP, with Benzyl Alcohol 0.9 percent. One package containing one (1) vial of Spectinomycin Hydrochloride and one (1) ampul Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, as specified, constitutes one unit.
