COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
MINERAL OIL, DIISOPROPYL SEBACATE, AND
ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE LOTION
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to MIL-M-37469.
Salient Characteristics:
Shall be a clear liquid containing Diisopropyl Sebacate, 10 percent, Isopropyl Myristate, 10 percent, with Light Mineral Oil, emulsifier, suitable coloring agents and scent.
The finished lotion (bath oil) shall assay to contain not less than 90.0 percent and not more than 110.0 percent of the required amount of Diisopropyl Sebacate and Isopropyl Myristate when assayed by a suitable, accurate and reproducible method.
Workmanship. The Lotion (bath oil) shall be free from defects which may detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Bottle (BT). One plastic bottle containing 237 ml (8 fl oz), as specified, constitutes one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
