COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE ORAL SOLUTION, USP
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-P-37445 which is cancelled.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be Potassium Chloride Oral Solution, USP.
Shall be in accordance with the requirements of the USP.
Shall be a sugar-free and pleasantly-flavored solution.
All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
Strength:
For Strength 1, shall contain 10 percent Potassium Chloride (w/v) equivalent to 20 mEq of elemental potassium in each 15 ml of solution, within the applicable assay limits.
For Strength 2, shall contain 20 percent Potassium Chloride (w/v) equivalent to 40 mEq of elemental potassium in each 15 ml of solution, USP, within the applicable assay limits for the suspension
Workmanship. The solution shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
