COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
ALBUTEROL INHALATION AEROSOL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be Albuterol Inhalation Aerosol.
Shall be a microcrystalline suspension of Albuterol in aerosol propellants suitable for inhalation.
All ingredients used shall be of pharmaceutical grade.
Shall be supplied 17g in a commercially available container with a metering valve and a rigid adapter and protective cap for oral inhalation therapy. Each container shall deliver not less than 200 metered doses. The valve shall deliver a measured dose of 90 mcg of Albuterol with each depression of the valve.
For Type I, shall be considered by the FDA to be therapeutically equivalent with Albuterol Inhalation Aerosol by Schering at the same dosage and administration schedule.
For Type II, shall be considered by the FDA to be therapeutically equivalent with Albuterol Inhalation Aerosol by Glaxo at the same dosage and administration schedule.
Workmanship. The product shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). Shall be supplied 17 grams in an immediate container with a metering valve and rigid adapter and protective cap. One package containing an immediate container with mouthpiece and protective cap, as specified, constitutes one unit.
