COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE GEL, DRIED, MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE
AND SIMETHICONE TABLES
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient Characteristics. Shall be dried Aluminum Hydroxide Gel, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Simethicone Tablets. All ingredients shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.
Strength:
Aluminum Hydroxide Gel 200mg
Magnesium Hydroxide 200mg
Simethicone 20-25mg
The tablets shall assay to contain not less than 90.0 percent and not more than 115.0 percent of the required amount of Aluminum Hydroxide Dried Gel, USP, when assayed by a suitable, accurate and reproducible method.
The tablets shall assay to contain not less than 93.0 percent and not more than 107.0 percent of the required amount of Magnesium Hydroxide, USP, when assayed by a suitable, accurate and reproducible method.
The tables shall assay to contain not less than 90.0 percent and not more than 110.0 percent of the required amount of Simethicone, USP, when assayed by a suitable, accurate and reproducible method.
Workmanship. The tablets shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing 100 individually sealed and labeled tablets (10 strips of 10 per strip, unit dose) as specified, constitutes one unit.
