A taste panel consisting of 10 members will be used to determine acceptability of samples. Samples will be prepared for testing (samples will be tested undiluted), coded, served to panel members under controlled serving conditions, e.g., all samples will be of the same amount, and served at the same temperature; each panel member will receive an equal number of samples; the order of serving will be varied among panel members; an interval of at least (5) minutes will elapse between successive samples and panel members will rinse their mouths will water (room temperature) after each sample; panel members will test without interference either from each other or from outsiders. The product offered shall be rated equal to or better than the Palatability Standard, 1/ when determined by the taste panel, using the following 9-point hedonic rating scale. The average rating of the samples shall be equal to or greater than the average rating of the standard, similarly prepared and tested.

1/ The Palatability Standard is available upon separate request to the contracting officer.

The sample is considered equal to the palatability standard if its average (calculated to the nearest tenth) is not more than 0.9 units below the average (calculated to the nearest tenth) of the palatability standard.

Shall contain a quantity of Senna Fruit Extract, standardized equivalent to 10.0 mg of Sennosides  per ml, within the applicable assay limits.

Materials used in manufacture shall be of a pharmaceutical grade.

Workmanship. The Product shall be free from defects which may detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.

Unit. Bottle (BT).

Shall be supplied 2.5 fl oz (74 ml) in a commercially available bottle (minimum height of 51 mm base to shoulder). One bottle, as specified, constitutes one unit.
